We are delighted to announce the 4th edition of the workshop Multi-Scale Dynamics of Soft Heterogeneous and Polymeric Materials, co-organized by Michelin and ESPCI Paris – PSL.

The event will take place on February 2 and 3, 2026, at ESPCI in Paris.

Since its creation in 2010, this workshop has aimed to bring together physicists, chemists, materials scientists, and engineers to share advances and perspectives on the development, processing, and applications of soft heterogeneous materials. This edition is organised in partnership with the Metasoft Matter programme, dedicated to the study of soft matter.

The organizing committee includes, on the Michelin side: Marc Couty, Davide Colombo, Gaetan Maurel, Thomas Poumeyrol and Regis Schach; and on the ESPCI side: Costantino Creton, Jean Comtet, Joshua McGraw, Philippe Bourrianne, Stefano Aime, Anne Boucher and Magalie Stab.

This new edition will feature a rich scientific program with internationally renowned speakers, covering topics such as material chemistry, mesoscopic mechanics, glass transition, and interfacial phenomena.

Invited speakers include:

  • Ludovic Berthier (CNRS, ESPCI Paris – PSL)

  • Roman Boulatov (University of Liverpool)

  • Juliette Cayer-Barrioz (CNRS, École Centrale de Lyon)

  • Zahra Fakhraai (University of Pennsylvania)

  • Emanuela Del Gado (Georgetown University)

  • Philippe Gutfreund (Institut Laue-Langevin)

  • Rong Long (University of Colorado Boulder)

  • Kirsten Martens (CNRS, Université Grenoble Alpes)

  • Giuseppe Milano (Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II)

  • Marcus Müller (Georg-August University)

  • Renaud Nicolay (ESPCI Paris – PSL)

  • Clive Siviour (University of Oxford)

  • Siegfried Stapf (Technische Universität Ilmenau)
